NYS MATH ASSESSMENT
The NYS Math Assessment testing will begin during the week we return from break. Encourage your child's to do their best and remember to charge their Chromebooks the night before the test.

CONGRATULATIONS 
Congratulations to the Boy’s Tennis Team on their wins against Commack. There were some very close matches.

CONGRATULATIONS
Congratulations to the Girls’ Softball team on their 18-2 opening-day victory. The team started out just as they left off last season continuing their winning ways. Excellent pitching and wonderful catching shone especially bright along with great offense and defense. The Captains provided the on-field leadership and all-around star power. A full team effort and lots of fun were had by all.

NHS SOFTBALL TEAM FUNDRAISER
The Northport High School Softball team will be holding two fundraisers:
1) Today, Thursday 4-18 all day at Mario's. Just mention Northport Softball when you pick up or place your order and the proceeds will benefit our softball program.
2) Saturday 4-20 from 10 am to 2 pm there will be a car wash at Northport high school!! Come and support your girls softball!!!

COLLEGE & CAREER DECISION DAY
Calling all students! On Wednesday, May1st wear any gear from a college/university, military or trade that you are interested in to share your excitement for your future plans!

PHILLY T-SHIRT FORM
The Philly T-Shirt form will be given out in homeroom on Friday, April 12th. It will also be available on Philly google classroom. T-shirts are $10 payable by cash or check (make out to: Island Silkscreen) and due by 4/18. Return the form and payment to Mr. Grimaldi in rm. 202.

Science and Engineering Expo
Join our future scientists and engineers for our Technology, Engineering and Robotics showcase.
It is being held Tuesday, April 30th from 6:00-7:00pm at WJB Gymnasium on Laurel Ave

CLASH OF THE CLASSES
Let the School-Wide Battle Begin! Attention ALL Students: Our 11th Annual Clash of the Classes will take place on Thursday, May 23rd from 7:00 – 9:00PM. All ticket sales will go directly to benefiting the Leslie Spanko Memorial Scholarship. Tickets, t-shirt sales & event sign-ups will be held during your lunch period from Tuesday April 30th until Friday May 3rd. Tickets are $5, but can be purchased at the door for $6 if occupancy allows while class t-shirts are also $5 ($10 total for a shirt and ticket combo). You must purchase a ticket to compete in an event and space is limited. Volunteers will also be needed to decorate the bleachers on May 23rd after school until 4pm. Sign up to compete in one of the events listed below to represent your grade.

PEER MEDIATION
We will be having meetings for all 7th and 8th grade peer mediators. This meeting is very important to attend because we will be discussing the tours. Meetings will be held Wednesday, May 1st during your lunch.
8th grade - May 1st - 5th period in Room 111
7th grade - May 1st - 6th period in Room 103

LONG ISLAND DUCKS GAME
The East Northport Middle School Chorale will be performing at the Long Island DUCKS baseball game on Tuesday, May 28th. Tickets are available to the entire school. Forms are located in the main office. Come support your school at a DUCKS game.

New Chrome Depot Policy
Charging the Chromebook and bringing it to school is the responsibility of each student. Many students abuse the loaner system of the Chrome Depot by failing to charge their own device or failing to bring it to school. From now on, if you need to borrow a Chromebook because your device is at home or not charged more than once in a week, disciplinary consequences may follow. See Mr. Colfer in the Chrome Depot if you have any questions.

8TH GRADE DANCE- Monday, June 24th...6-9 PM. Permission slips can be found on Google Classroom for STARS. You must be a member of STARS to attend. BOY’S INTRAMURAL SOCCER
Boys Intramural Soccer: Any boy interested in playing intramural soccer against Northport Middle please meet Mr. Burke outside the boy’s locker room after school. We will take a bus to 5th Avenue School and return to East Northport Middle at 5:15. Hope to see you!

Ping Pong will be held every Friday morning until the end of the year beginning at 7:30am. Any 6th, 7th or 8th grader that wishes to join us for any and all sessions are welcome. See Mr. Toppi with any questions! Dates of our meetings are 5/3, 5/10, 5/17, 5/24, 5/31, 6/7 and 6/14.

STUDENT BEVERAGES
Students who enter the building in the morning with a beverage other than water, will be asked to go the South Cafeteria. Water is the only beverage allowed in the hallways. Thank you.

ALL STUDENTS... FYI
RECESS: Students please bring your jackets and/or sweatshirts with you to lunch if you intend on going outside for recess. Students will not be allowed to go to their lockers after they have eaten.
WATER BOTTLE: If you drink Poland Spring water and would like to recycle the bottle, please bring it to room 212! An empty, label on, Poland Spring water bottle will be traded for a lollipop!
Snacks may be permitted in classes based on teacher discretion. If classroom snacks are permitted, we ask that the snacks be healthy. Additionally, only water is allowed as a drink in classrooms. Due to concerns regarding allergies, we ask that students DO NOT eat snacks containing tree nuts or peanuts in classrooms or hallways

ENMS PARKING
When parking on 5th Avenue and surrounding streets, we’ve been advised by SCPD to not park too close to the entrance or exits of East Northport MS, or the corners of any residential street. You must be 30 feet from the crosswalks and 20 feet from the stop signs. Vehicles parked in these areas can block the view of other drivers causing an unsafe condition. In addition, you will be ticketed. Thank you for your understanding.
